Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) recently welcomed M/V ONE EAGLE, the inaugural call of the EC3 service operated by the Premier Alliance. This milestone strengthens TCIT’s strategic collaboration with alliance member shipping lines, reinforcing its role as a key gateway for global trade and unlocking new opportunities for import-export businesses.

Formed through the strategic restructuring of the former THE Alliance, Premier Alliance unites three leading shipping lines: Ocean Network Express (ONE), HMM, and Yang Ming with operations officially commencing in February 2025. The alliance boasts a fleet of over 300 container ships with a total capacity of 3 million TEUs, deploying 24 service routes across Asia-Europe, the Americas, and the Mediterranean. Its goal is to benefit all stakeholders by offering optimized shipping solutions in terms of cost, routes, and transit times while minimizing supply chain disruptions and ensuring seamless connections for key global trade routes.

Mr. Truong Tan Loc, Chairman of TCIT’s Board of Members, highlighted: "Starting from February 2025, the global shipping industry is witnessing a transformative shift as major alliances, including Premier Alliance, redefine their strategies and reshape the maritime landscape. With TCIT’s strategic location, leading handling capacity, and strong regional connectivity, along with SNP’s logistics-port ecosystem, we provide optimal shipping solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strengthen competitive advantages. The continued trust of Premier Alliance in TCIT as their strategic hub in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai region is a testament to our alignment with their long-term vision."

Mr. Shotaro Ikeda, General Director of ONE (Vietnam), commented: "In the future, ONE and our partners are committed to further strengthening our cooperation with TCIT to provide the best shipping services, boost trade between Vietnam and key global markets, and create greater value for our customers."
TCIT: Strengthening Vietnam’s Role in Global Trade
The arrival of the maiden call of the EC3 service at TCIT - one of the four main service routes of the Premier Alliance alongside PS3, FP2, and MS2 marks a new milestone in the long-term collaboration between TCIT and the alliance's member shipping lines.

Currently, TCIT handles 10 international service routes weekly, directly connecting Vietnam with key markets such as North America, Europe, and intra-Asia. As a trusted destination for the world's leading shipping lines, TCIT takes pride in contributing to the socio-economic development of the region and supporting the sustainable growth of the maritime industry and the national economy.
Beyond its position as a premier deep-water container terminal and international transshipment hub, TCIT plans to expand its logistics capabilities by investing in Depot and Inland Container Depot (ICD) facilities in the Cai Mep area. This initiative will provide comprehensive logistics solutions and value-added services, further enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening links between industrial zones, production centers, and global markets.
With its unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and strategic expansion, TCIT continues to strengthen its position as a leading maritime gateway in Southeast Asia, driving connectivity, efficiency, and global trade growth.
