Sea Festival 2006 in Vung Tau City - Attractive and Impressive
The Sea Festival 2006 will take place in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province from April 11-15, 2006 with the motto: Impressive and Friendly. It will be the first of its kind to be organised on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the province to introduce cultural and historical values, and the heroic tradition of national construction and defence.
The festival will include such events as an exhibition of sea antiquities, gastronomy from three regions, a sport tournament (traditional and modern), parachute water skiing, kite flying, and a boat parade, attracting the participation of tourists and locals alike.
The theme of the opening evening is “Sea and Love”. The closing ceremony “New destination” will be concluded with a carnival. A fashion and music programme will be organised with the participation of famous singers and models with such topics as ‘Ocean discovery’, ‘Vung Tau Sun and Wind’ and ‘Blue sea’ among others. A photo exhibition entitled “Sea and Life” and a sculpture symposium “Sea flowers” with the participation of 41 sculptors will be opened on April 5. On April 6, it will be followed up by a sand sculpture competition. And on April 12, the Sea Festival Pageant 2006 will be the concluding event.
In addition, Ba Ria - Vung Tau People’s Committee together with CIAT company will organise a trade fair at Paradise tourist centre on April 11-16 introducing socio-economic development and potentials of the province, calling for investment and business co-operation.
