Doai Phuong Builds Modern and Ecological New Countryside

Doai Phuong commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: Kim Son, Son Dong, most of the natural area and population of Co Dong commune belonging to Son Tay town (old). With its available potential and methodical development strategy, Doai Phuong commune is firmly on the path of building new countryside, combining economic development and building a modern agricultural model.

With a favorable geographical location, adjacent to Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and National Highway 21A, Doai Phuong commune has a special advantage to promote industrial and trade - service development. National Highway 21A is a vital traffic route connecting the western area of Hanoi with the center of the capital and key economic regions in the North, creating favorable conditions for the circulation of goods and market connection.

In the economic development strategy, Doai Phuong identifies agriculture as the key industry, with jackfruit as a typical product. Doai Phuong jackfruit is known for its delicious taste, with an annual output of up to 3,000 tons of fruit, grown on an area of over 30 hectares. Mr. Bui Huu Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Doai Phuong Commune, said: "In agricultural economic development, jackfruit is considered a key crop in the economic development of the commune. The whole commune has about 48,000 jackfruit trees from 8 to 100 years old, grown on an area of over 30 hectares and in the home gardens of many households, yielding more than 3,000 tons of fruit/year. Jackfruit in Doai Phuong is famous for its delicious taste, traders come to the garden to buy, so there is no backlog. The economic efficiency of jackfruit has been confirmed. Many households have become rich from specializing in jackfruit cultivation and trading, earning an income of 300-400 million VND/year...".

In developing household economy, Doai Phuong has the traditional craft village of Moc Van An, specializing in producing high-quality fine art wooden products, silk sausage, vermicelli... In particular, the beekeeping profession of Kim Son Agricultural Service Cooperative is a bright spot in the locality. Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a beekeeper in Nghia Son village, said that his family is raising about 400-500 bee colonies, with an annual honey harvest of 4,000 to 5,000 liters. Kim Son honey has also been protected by the Intellectual Property Office for the intellectual property rights of the product "Kim Son - Son Tay honey collective brand". Currently, Doai Phuong has about 40 beekeeping households with 2,000 bee colonies, an output of more than 30,000 liters of honey/year, and revenue from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of VND/household/year.


Doai Phuong focuses on developing high-tech agriculture

Currently, the average income in Doai Phuong commune is 70 million VND/person/year. Chairman of Doai Phuong Commune People's Committee Nguyen The Hung said: "With its existing potential and strengths, Doai Phuong commune builds a strategic orientation and focuses on effectively exploiting its advantages for sustainable development. Specifically, in the development plan for the period 2025-2030, Doai Phuong commune is oriented to form 3 concentrated industrial parks with a total area of about 200 hectares. This will be an opportunity to attract investment from large domestic and foreign enterprises, thereby helping to create jobs for local workers, strongly shifting the labor and economic structure of the commune towards modernity".

With the goal of improving people's quality of life and creating a foundation for sustainable development, Doai Phuong has developed an economic development strategy for the period 2025 - 2030. The commune plans to form 3 concentrated industrial parks with an area of about 200 hectares, attracting investment from domestic and foreign enterprises. These industrial parks will create jobs for local people, shift the labor structure, promote economic development towards modernization and integration.

In addition to industry, Doai Phuong also focuses on developing high-tech agriculture. According to Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen The Hung, the commune is encouraging the construction of modern agricultural production models such as greenhouses, drip irrigation, organic production, etc. to improve productivity and product quality. The commune also focuses on developing value chain production linkage models, especially in combination with ecotourism, to increase the value of agricultural products and create favorable conditions for farmers in consuming products. Orientation from now until 2030, Doai Phuong will form three concentrated industrial parks with a total area of about 200 hectares, to attract investment and create jobs for people. At the same time, the commune also focuses on developing high-tech agriculture such as greenhouse models, drip irrigation, organic production, value chain linkage associated with ecotourism. Agricultural production areas will be developed according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. This is not only a sustainable direction, but also helps increase income and stabilize farmers' lives.

Regarding ecotourism potential, the commune owns a large space with many large lakes, especially Dong Mo Lake with an area of nearly 1,000 hectares of water surface. With a fresh climate and beautiful scenery, this is one of the potential areas to develop resorts, experiential and ecological tourism, contributing to increasing income for local people. The combination of tourism development and environmental protection also helps Doai Phuong complete the new rural criteria, bringing a new look to the commune.
