With a total investment of USD 300 million, Suntory’s newest manufacturing facility contributes to operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth ambitions in Vietnam.

Recently, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage (SPVB) officially inaugurated its Tay Ninh Plant, marking a significant milestone in the company's more than 30-year journey in Vietnam. Representing SPVB's largest investment to date, the new facility reinforces the company's long-term confidence in Vietnam's economic potential while advancing innovation, manufacturing excellence and sustainable industrial development.
Located in Huu Thanh Industrial Zone, Duc Hoa District, Tay Ninh Province, the plant spans 20 hectares and was developed with a total investment of USD 300 million. As SPVB's sixth manufacturing facility in Vietnam, it stands as the company's largest and most technologically advanced production site in the country, while also ranking among the largest manufacturing facilities within the Suntory and PepsiCo network across Asia.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Chancellor of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, stated: “Suntory PepsiCo's Tay Ninh Plant, built with a vision of modernity, efficiency, and sustainability, is another testament to the company's long-term commitment to growing together with Vietnam. Beyond producing the familiar beverages enjoyed by Vietnamese consumers, the plant has the potential to become a valuable model facility where green standards, quality management, automation, data-driven operations, resource efficiency, and corporate social responsibility are seamlessly integrated into day-to-day manufacturing practices.”
With a designed production capacity of up to 1.24 billion liters annually, the facility significantly strengthens SPVB's ability to meet growing consumer demands while supporting the company's future expansion. Beyond enhancing manufacturing capacity, the project is expected to create 3,000 jobs across the supply chain, contribute to local supply chain development and generate broader economic benefits for Tay Ninh Province. The facility is currently dedicated to serving domestic demand, while being designed with the flexibility to support other markets in the future.

Commenting on the project's contribution to regional development, Mr. Lê Văn Hẳn, Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Commttee of Tay Ninh province, said: “The Suntory PepsiCo Tay Ninh Plant is not only a large-scale manufacturing investment but also a model of advanced technology adoption and sustainable development. The establishment of the plant in Tay Ninh marks an important milestone that will contribute to technology transfer, foster the development of a modern industrial ecosystem, and accelerate the province's digital transformation as well as the application and advancement of science and technology. Beyond its economic significance, the project also delivers meaningful social value by creating high-quality employment opportunities, enhancing the skills of the local workforce, and improving the livelihoods of people in the province."
A future-ready manufacturing hub
Designed as one of SPVB's most advanced manufacturing facilities, the Tay Ninh Plant integrates automation, digital technologies and smart manufacturing systems across the entire production process – from raw material handling and production to packaging, warehousing and logistics.
The facility is among the most advanced in the region, with can production lines operating at speeds of up to 120,000 cans per hour and PET production lines reaching 84,000 bottles per hour. The plant also houses the first fully automated warehouse within SPVB and Suntory Beverage and Food Asia (SBFA). Covering approximately 15,000 square meters, the automated warehouse has a storage capacity of 43,000 pallets, where robotic systems manage storage, retrieval and material movement, improving operational efficiency, safety and supply chain responsiveness.
In addition to supporting manufacturing excellence, the facility is equipped to produce beverages using 100% recycled PET (rPET) packaging, strengthening SPVB's commitment to circular economy principles while enabling future product innovation and packaging transformation.
Representing Suntory Beverage & Food (SBF), Mr. Josuke Kimura, President & Chief Executive Officer of SBF, said: “The Tay Ninh Plant marks another important milestone in Suntory's Growing for Good journey in Vietnam, strengthening our long-term commitment through advanced manufacturing and innovation. As one of our most exciting growth markets in Asia, Vietnam presents evolving consumer tastes. This investment strengthens our ability to respond with speed, scale and innovation for Vietnamese consumers and potentially across the region. The strong momentum of our brands and market share growth gives us confidence that we are on the right innovation trajectory and creating products consumers want.”
Sustainability embedded by design
Sustainability has been integrated into every stage of the Tay Ninh Plant's development, from design and construction to daily operations. Developed in accordance with LEED Gold standards, the facility incorporates environmentally friendly building materials, energy-efficient technology and renewable energy solutions to reduce environmental impact while improving operational performance.
Since November 2025, 100% of steam used in production has been generated from biomass, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Together with on-site solar energy systems, the plant demonstrates SPVB's commitment to transitioning towards cleaner and more sustainable manufacturing operations.
Resource efficiency is embedded throughout the facility. Wastewater is fully collected and treated to required standards, with treated water reused for selected internal operations to improve water efficiency. Waste is segregated at source and managed through recycling, reuse and co-processing initiatives, enabling the facility to achieve zero waste to landfill. More than 20% of the site is dedicated to green landscaping, creating a healthier working environment while contributing to biodiversity and climate resilience.
Collectively, these initiatives support SPVB's long-term sustainability ambition of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, while reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainable manufacturing and responsible business growth.

In Tay Ninh, the programme is expected to benefit more than 140,000 students through teacher training between 2024 and 2026.

SPVB also continues to support local communities through initiatives including safe drinking water relief, infrastructure development and educational assistance. The company has contributed to the construction of the Duc Hoa Bridge, donated VND 1 billion to support disadvantaged children in Tay Ninh, and advanced environmental conservation through urban tree planting and the restoration of 20 hectares of watershed forest under its Water of Life initiative.
Guided by its philosophy of Growing for Good and Giving Back to Society, SPVB remains committed to creating shared value by combining business growth with meaningful contributions to Vietnam's sustainable development.
