From developing well-planned and efficiently operated industrial parks to being selected as the developer of Functional Zone No. 2 within the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, Sai Gon-Da Nang Investment Corporation (SDN) has continued to strengthen its pioneering role and build a solid foundation to support the city's next phase of development. Through the upcoming Eagle FTZ project, SDN aims to create a modern logistics and manufacturing ecosystem, contributing to Da Nang's growth as a key hub in global supply chains.

Over two decades of industrial infrastructure development

Sai Gon-Da Nang Investment Corporation (SDN) was established under Decision No. 9101/QD-UBND dated November 28, 2005, issued by the Da Nang People's Committee. The company is a member of Saigon Invest Group (SGI), one of Vietnam's leading groups in the development of industrial parks, urban areas, and real estate projects.

Over the past two decades, alongside Da Nang's industrialization and integration, SDN has steadily established itself as one of the city's leading industrial infrastructure investors. The company has invested in and developed several major projects, including Hoa Khanh Expanded Industrial Park, Lien Chieu Industrial Park, and various technical infrastructure works, helping create favorable conditions for attracting both domestic and foreign investment.

At the same time, SDN has gradually expanded into urban development and social housing projects, contributing to the city's broader development ecosystem. Its project execution capabilities, experience working with businesses, and commitment to sustainable development have helped build SDN's reputation over the years.

This foundation led to SDN being selected by the city as the investor of Functional Zone No. 2 (Eagle FTZ) within the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (DNFTZ), one of the projects expected to create new development opportunities and support Da Nang's goal of becoming a regional center for logistics, trade, and supply chain connectivity.

Overview of the Da Nang FTZ - a key component of the city's long-term development strategy

Eagle FTZ: A key link in the DNFTZ

The development of the DNFTZ is more than the addition of a new economic zone. It reflects the city's strategic vision of building a regional center for logistics, trade, manufacturing, and innovation.

Covering nearly 1,900 hectares, the DNFTZ is planned as a multifunctional zone that includes logistics, manufacturing, trade and services, digital technology, innovation, and other modern economic activities linked to seaports, an international airport, a financial center, and the city's industrial park system.

Within this framework, the manufacturing and logistics zone plays a particularly important role as a link between the East-West Economic Corridor and global supply chains, while making the most of the advantages offered by Lien Chieu Port, Tien Sa Port, Da Nang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport, and the regional transportation network.

Eagle FTZ, which the city assigned to SDN for development, is considered one of the key projects within the overall DNFTZ model.

Covering approximately 75 hectares, Eagle FTZ occupies a strategic location adjacent to the Lien Chieu Port logistics area and benefits from seamless connectivity through all major transport modes, including National Highway 1A, the South Hai Van Bypass, the La Son-Tuy Loan Expressway, Kim Lien Freight Station, Lien Chieu Port, and Da Nang International Airport, located about 11 kilometers away.

In addition to its location advantages, the site features relatively flat terrain, with most of the land already cleared, and lies within the planned area of Phase 2 of Lien Chieu Industrial Park, also developed by SDN. These conditions are expected to help shorten implementation timelines and support the rapid development of a modern logistics, manufacturing, and supporting industry center.

Under the development plan, Eagle FTZ will include an integrated logistics complex featuring warehouses, transshipment centers, bonded facilities, processing zones for re-export activities, and modern manufacturing spaces closely connected to seaport systems and multimodal transportation networks.

More importantly, Eagle FTZ is expected to be more than an infrastructure project. It is envisioned as a next-generation logistics and manufacturing ecosystem, creating a platform to attract international businesses and enable their participation in global value chains from Da Nang.

Combining local expertise with global vision

One of the most notable developments in the implementation of Eagle FTZ is SDN's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singapore's YCH Group, one of Asia's leading logistics companies with more than 70 years of experience in developing and operating international supply chains.

This partnership goes beyond a cooperation agreement between two organizations. It brings together SDN's expertise in infrastructure development and understanding of Vietnam's investment environment with YCH Group's modern logistics capabilities, supply-chain management technologies, and extensive international partner network.

Under the cooperation framework, the two sides will jointly study and develop smart logistics models, modern distribution centers, automated warehousing systems, and advanced supply-chain management solutions to support the DNFTZ ecosystem.

More importantly, YCH's participation creates opportunities for Eagle FTZ to gain direct access to a network of customers, investors, and multinational corporations within the Asia-Pacific logistics ecosystem.

The launch of Eagle FTZ not only marks the start of a new project but also creates expectations for a new phase of development for Da Nang within the global economy. With SDN's pioneering role and the support of international strategic partners, the project is expected to become an important link in the regional logistics network, helping advance Da Nang's ambition to become an internationally recognized center for trade, logistics, and innovation.
