During the State visit to the Republic of the Philippines by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, the Vietnam-Philippines Business Forum was held on June 1 in Manila, with the participation of senior leaders from both countries and a large number of enterprises.

Vinachem was among the representative state-owned enterprises in the Vietnamese business delegation attending the forum, while also carrying out trade promotion and investment networking activities and exchanging strategic cooperation agreements with leading Philippine partners. The event not only opened new opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between the business communities of the two countries but also reflected the role of state-owned enterprises in implementing economic diplomacy priorities, strengthening supply chain connectivity, and promoting industrial cooperation in the region.

The Vinachem delegation was led by Phung Quang Hiep, Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vinachem. The delegation included Nguyen Van Luyen, Deputy General Director; Bui Van Thang, Head of the Planning and Business Division; Cao Thanh Tin, General Director of LIX Detergent Joint Stock Company; Nguyen Dinh Khoat, General Director of Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company; Do Van Tuan, General Director of Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company; Vu Viet Tien, General Director of DAP2 - Vinachem Joint Stock Company; along with representatives from specialized departments and member units.

Expanding distribution network in the Philippines

At the forum, Vinachem signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with three major Philippine partners, including Puregold Price Club, Inc., Planter Products Inc., and Sun Prince TBA Corporation, witnessed by senior leaders of Vietnam and the Philippines. These agreements signal broader prospects for cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.

Under the agreement with Puregold Price Club, Inc., one of the Philippines’ leading retail groups with a network of more than 600 supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores nationwide, Vinachem’s consumer products will gradually be introduced into the partner’s distribution system. The cooperation focuses on detergent products, household care products, and fast-moving consumer goods.

With Planter Products Inc., a company with strengths in manufacturing, trading, and marketing agricultural products in the Philippines, both sides agreed to promote cooperation in the supply of fertilizers and plant protection products, while also exploring opportunities for technology transfer and the development of solutions for sustainable agriculture.

Meanwhile, the agreement with Sun Prince TBA Corporation opens opportunities for Vinachem’s industrial rubber products, tires, batteries, accumulators, and other industrial products to access the Philippine market more deeply through the partner’s established distribution network.

Establishing partnerships with enterprises that have extensive distribution networks in the Philippines is expected to help Vinachem expand outlets for its key product groups while increasing direct access to local consumers and businesses.

Deeper participation in the ASEAN value chain

As a state economic group playing a core role in Vietnam’s chemical industry, Vinachem currently operates a diverse product ecosystem, ranging from basic chemicals, fertilizers, and industrial chemical products to tires, batteries, accumulators, and consumer goods.

The simultaneous establishment of cooperation with partners in retail, agriculture, and industry in the Philippines demonstrates Vinachem’s ability to connect across multiple market segments as well as its capacity to participate more deeply in regional value chains.

All MoUs aim to build long-term partnerships, expand markets, leverage each side’s strengths, and promote cooperation in high-tech and green economy sectors. These directions also align with Vinachem’s development strategy in the new period, as Vinachem accelerates technological innovation, digital transformation, green transition, and the development of high-tech products.

The outcomes achieved in the Philippines not only help expand export markets but also lay the foundation for Vinachem to strengthen its commercial presence in one of ASEAN’s most dynamic economies. Through the distribution, retail, and agricultural networks of Philippine partners, many of Vinachem’s key products will gain more direct access to local consumers and businesses, gradually forming long-term cooperation channels in trade, technology, and sustainable development.

Participation in the Vietnam–Philippines Business Forum and the signing of multiple cooperation agreements further confirm Vinachem’s reputation, capacity, and position in the international arena. This is not only a step forward in its export expansion strategy but also reflects Vinachem’s pioneering role in promoting industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and regional supply chain connectivity.

In the context of Vietnam’s accelerating international economic integration and efforts to improve the performance of state-owned enterprises in the new period, Vinachem identifies international cooperation as one of the key drivers for expanding development space, enhancing competitiveness, and engaging more deeply in global value chains. The outcomes achieved in the Philippines open new market opportunities for Vinachem’s core products while contributing to the realization of its strategy to strengthen its presence in ASEAN, affirming its role as a core force of Vietnam’s chemical industry and a bridge for promoting economic, industrial, and technological cooperation between Vietnam and regional partners.
