Amazon Global Selling Vietnam and the Da Nang city Department of Industry and Trade today officially launched a cooperation program to accelerate ecommerce exports, supporting businesses in Da Nang and the central region. The event took place within the Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair of the East-West Economic Corridor - Da Nang 2026 Conference (EWEC - Da Nang 2026).

This is a multifaceted cooperation program between Amazon Global Selling Vietnam and Da Nang City, reflecting both parties' shared efforts to support local businesses in reaching the global retail market.

Ecommerce exports: a new growth driver for Vietnamese businesses

Ecommerce exports are creating significant opportunities for Vietnamese businesses, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which account for 97% of all businesses nationwide. Vietnam's B2C ecommerce export value reached USD 3.6 billion in 2023 and is expected to nearly double, reaching USD 6.1 billion by 2028. Key product categories such as furniture and fashion are projected to grow 20–26% annually, two to five times faster than traditional exports.

The number of products sold by Vietnamese selling partners on Amazon has grown more than 300% since 2019, reflecting a strong shift from contract manufacturing to brand ownership. Amazon Global Selling is focusing on three priorities in Vietnam in 2026: accelerating Vietnam's position as Southeast Asia's high-quality ecommerce export hub; elevating "Made-in-Vietnam" to global prominence; and enabling AI transformation for the export industry.

Da Nang: strategic position, high-potential product categories

As the economic hub of the Central region, Da Nang has a seaport system, an international airport, road and rail transport networks, and increasingly invested logistics infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the movement of goods from production areas to domestic and international markets. Additionallyion, the city has advantages in developing digital economy sectors, ecommerce, information technology, finance, logistics, and business support services. These are the foundational elements for forming a synchronized online export ecosystem that supports businesses in the city as well as businesses in localities across the Central region in accessing global markets. Furthermore, with key export industries such as textiles and garments, footwear, furniture, and many of the city's signature products having the potential to expand markets through online export, Da Nang has many favorable conditions to transition from traditional export methods to building brands, reaching, and selling directly to international consumers.

The cooperation program: supporting businesses in ecommerce exports

The program aligns with Vietnam's "Go Global" initiative and Da Nang's Ecommerce Development Plan for 2026–2030. Specifically, both parties will implement a support roadmap taking businesses from initial research through to their first sales on Amazon and beyond. Eligible businesses will have access to in-depth training in product research, selection development, operational optimization, and international brand building. Qualifying businesses will receive 1:1 support from the Amazon Global Selling team on selection guidance, brand promotion, and operations on Amazon. The program also connects businesses with a network of logistics, payments, and international marketing service providers, while creating opportunities to learn from a community of thousands of Vietnamese sellers on Amazon. Both parties will co-organize specialized events connecting businesses with export opportunities in key countries.
