Vietnam Business Forum would like to introduce some ideas of leaders of Vietnamese enterprises about their operation and preparations for the country’s international integration progress.

Nguyen Huu Tri, president and general director of the Saigon Rubber Joint stock Company (KYMDAN)
Our products under the trademark of KYMDAN have found a foothold not only in Vietnam but also 96 countries around the world. KYMDAN is the first and leading manufacturer of latex mattresses, beds, pillows and lounge suites with a capacity of 1,000 mattresses per day. The equitisation of KYMDAN is completely suitable with the development of international economic integration. In 2005 alone, sales of KYMDAN reached VND 452 billion. We have invested in building and expanding workshops in the Tay Bac Cu Chi industrial park on six hectares with a total investment of VND 43 billion for modern production lines and certifying facilities and laboratories, meeting the international standard.

As planned, in 2006 and 2007 KYMDAN will expand workshops by five hectares to increase production capability, perfecting its production systems and specialised facilities to improve the competitiveness in the market. In particular, we have always attached importance to trademark and market development, taking measures to register the trademark and exporting products to 96 countries around the world, establishing branches and affiliates in Australia, France and Germany, and will soon be set up in China. In particular, we are striving to reach unique prices for our exported products and develop a network of distribution in most provinces and cities nationwide, and provide the best post-sale services for customers.

Nguyen Duc Khiem, president and general director of the Viet Thang Textile Company (VITEXCO)

One of the first State-owned enterprises specialising in textile, garments and dyeing, over the past number of years, VITEXCO has found a foothold in the domestic and foreign markets, in particular such hard-to-please markets as the US, Japan and Western Europe. With modern machines and equipment imported from the US, Germany, Taiwan and Japan, each year the company manufactures 4,500 tonnes of fabrics, 30 million metres of cloths and four million garment products.

In 2005, VITEXCO was equitised. The company’s proper approaches in upgrading and restructuring equipment has paid off. As a result, the company’s financial status has become healthier while its production output and incomes have increased. VITEXCO’s sales have increased by between five and ten per cent. Its industrial production output rises by four per cent. The company has around 3,000 skilled workers. In the coming time, VITEXCO will continue to effectively exploit its workshops, list its stock in the securities market, becoming an active member of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group. In particular, the company strives to increase its productivity and quality, and create more samples to meet consumers’ demands. The company will maintain and effectively exploit the markets of the US, Europe, Japan and Vietnam with diversified products, reaching international quality standards.

Nguyen Luu Tuong, president and general director of the Nha Be Import and Export Joint stock Company (NHABEXIMS)
Despite being equitised in 2005, NHAABEXIMS has proven a prestigious trademark in the local and foreign markets in warehouse services, food processing, handbag manufacturing, and house building. In 2005, we produced 150,097 tonnes of products and sold 137,331 tonnes of banana, apple, jackfruit and cashew nuts. Exported products account for over 60 per cent of our production volume. The products have been exported to the EU, the US, Japan, Taiwan and China. We tightly control food hygiene and safety. At the same time, we have invested in upgrading our production lines and technology to improve our production capability, reducing costs and improving competitiveness.
