Exhibition on Teaching Materials to Kick off in May
The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), in collaboration with Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, will organize an exhibition of books, and teaching materials for the 2006-2007 academic year in the two biggest cities next month.
The annual event aims to help schools in the two cities better prepare for the next academic year, said Nguyen Dinh Thai Chau, deputy Head of the Planning and Finance Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Service of Education and Training.
"Organizing such an activity is very important as it can help schools save money as well as avoid waste for purchasing teaching material," Chau added, revealing that waste in the purchase of teaching devices is a pressing matter for public and educational agencies in recent years.
This is also an occasion for both domestic and foreign companies to introduce themselves, and market their latest educational products.
To date, more than 30 firms have put their names down for the event.
As scheduled, the exhibition will take place at the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City from may 14-17 and at Vietnam Arts and Culture Exhibition Center in Hanoi from May 21-24.
The first exhibition of this kind started in 2003.
