Exports to Asia Make up Half of Vietnammâs Total Value in First Four Months
Vietnam pulled in over $5.93 billion from exports to Asia in the first fourth months of this year, accounting for 49 per cent of its total export value, said the Ministry of Trade (MoT).
The figure represented an on-year increase of 24 per cent, added the MoT.
The ministry also revealed that export revenues to Europe and America occupied 20.5 per cent and 21 per cent of the whole, up 34 per cent and 40 per cent, respectively, over the same period last year.
Exports to Oceania enjoyed a slight growth of 9 per cent, mainly due to the reduction of crude oil export to Australia.
Meanwhile, the country reported a sharp on-year fall of exports to Africa with 28 per cent because of a decrease in rice exports.
Regarding export scale and growth in the period, the country’s exports mainly targeted big and powerful markets like the US, EU, ASEAN and Japan, said the ministry.
In January-April, the total export value of Vietnam increased by 25.1 per cent on-year to $12.11 billion and import spending rose by 6.9 per cent to $12.332 billion.
