VIB Bank Finishes Technology Modernisation Project

On June 07 in Hanoi, Vietnam International Bank (VIB Bank) announced that it has successfully carried out the multifunctional banking system called SYMBOLS supplied by Singapore’s System Access. Mr. Trinh Van Tuan, Chairman of VIB Bank, said, after 12 months of efforts, the project has finished and has been applied to all transaction points of VIB Bank.

This solution is built on the most advanced platforms including Oracle 10g, Oracle RAC, and Tuxedo Middleware with the advantages of a high degree of stability and flexibility for application and multi-dimensional expansion for growth. SYMBOLS enhances efficiency in the bank’s operations by automating intermediate steps, cutting manual operations, minimising administrative procedures. It also allows easy integration with other applications including the global inter-bank electronic settlement system (SWIFT), the State Bank inter-bank payment system (CITAD), Mobile Banking, Internet Banking and ATMs. SYMBOLS is especially flexible to allow for creation of new products.
