Measures to increase power in Jul-December
The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) said new power plants would generate an addition of 678 MW from now to the year’s end.
The Se San 3 Hydropower Plant is scheduled for generation in August 2006, Cao Ngan Thermopower Plant in August or September, Normura-Cai Lan Hydropower in September, Se San Hydropower 3A in September and December and the extended Uong Bi Thermopower Plant in December.
Additionally, EVN will import nearly 1 billion kWh of electricity from China. EVN said Vietnam is carrying out procedures to invest in power purchase projects to buy electricity from the China Southern Electrical Grid (CSG) in 10 years.
With the electrical supplementation plan, EVN ensured stable supplies in the dry season with a maximum output of 9,470 MW, an 11.8 per cent increase against the same period of last year.
