In face of ever-increasing energy consumption and shortage of power supply, the government has launched a programme of saving energy. Philips Vietnam has participated in the programme with a new product - saving bulb. 5,000 compact bulbs have been provided to households in Mai Dinh commune (Soc Son, Hanoi) and Hai Trieu commune (Tien Lu, Hung Yen). It is part of the project to save energy in rural areas sponsored by Mr Mai Trong Tuan, Director General of Bong Trang joint stock company.

On June 14, 2005, at the conference on saving energy in rural areas held in Mai Dinh commune, Mr Doan Tien Dung, representative of Philips Vietnam said that the company has always tried to offer Vietnamese consumers best products and services. Philips bulbs ensure long life and consume less energy. Other electronic products are audio/video, TV screen, razor, steam iron, CD-R/RW, large LCD screen, medical equipment, etc.

In the coming years, Philips Vietnam will expand the market nation wide and the saving of energy will increase both the economic growth and living conditions of the people.
