Danish Deputy Prime Minister Visits Vietnam
The Danish Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Bendt Bendtsen has arrived in Vietnam leading an export promotion of Danish technologies. Accompanied by representatives from prominent Danish companies, he will visit Vietnamese business contacts in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The visit of the Danish Deputy Prime Minister lasts from September 11-15. Under the heading “Building Vietnam with Danish Technologies” the Deputy Prime Minister leads a delegation of twenty-one Danish companies specialized in different industries such as energy, building materials and construction, food processing and shipbuilding.
Deputy Prime Minister Mr Bendt Bendtsen says: “I am glad to head this delegation of Danish enterprises to Vietnam. I see it as a great opportunity to increase the Danish interest in doing business in Vietnam. The Vietnamese economy has large potential and many Danish enterprises have already established themselves in Vietnam and I expect more to follow. I hope this visit can continue the enhanced business cooperation between our two countries"
In Hanoi the Deputy Prime Minister will take part in the inauguration of Song Day Concrete Pipe Factory, which is equipped with machines from the Danish firm Pedershaab Concrete Technologies. The programme in Ho Chi Minh City includes a raising the roof-tree and tree-planting ceremony at Sonion’s new construction site in Saigon High Tech Park. The Danish-owned consultancy firm, Carl Bro Vietnam, has been responsible for carrying out the construction of the factory. Sonion has leading competencies within the field of acoustics and will produce components for the mobile phone industry as well as to hearing aids.
Among the official opening ceremonies in Ho Chi Minh City are also the launching of the Danish investment fund, Private Equity New Markets, and the opening of CSR Vietnam. Private Equity New Markets is supported by Danida, managed by BankInvest and will channel Danish pension funds into private Vietnamese companies. CSR Vietnam is a consultancy firm established by two Danish and one Vietnamese company.
