Vietcombank to Supply Payment Services to APEC 2006

The Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has just been selected as an official payment service supplier for the imminent APEC CEO Summit 2006.

 

Vietcombank is now the only bank in Vietnam offering payment services for five kinds of international cards of MasterCard, Visa, JCB, Diner Club and Amex.

 

Recently, the bank has introduced e-commerce payment service on the summit’s website, facilitating international and local delegates to pay fees and also “lessening significant workload for the organization board of APEC CEO Summit 2006 in preparation for such an important event,” said Nguyen Huong Na, the board’s member

 

The bank will widely promote this online payment service in a bid to provide an effective sale solution to businesses in Vietnam, said Nguyen Tu Anh, director of Vietcombank’s Card Center.

 

Additionally, to well prepare for the APEC summit and other related events due in November, Vietcombank is working with relevant bodies of the organization board to launch points of sales (Pos), advance cash to delegates at their workplace and homestay, Anh added.

Reportedly, among important meetings of the APEC 2006, the APEC CEO Summit is the unique conference that requires participants and attachés to pay participation fees worth $2,000 a foreign representative and $750 a local representative.

 

So far, foreign delegates registering for the summit participation has numbered at 1,000, said the organization board.
