VIDAMCO Update in Vietnam

In 2002, Daewoo Motor Company in Korea became a part of the General Motors’ family and was renamed GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM DAEWOO).

VIDAMCO was established on December 14th, 1993, becoming the first wholly foreign owned car maker in Vietnam in April, 2000. In October 2002, VIDAMCO became a part of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology and began its operation with a new logo on March 7th, 2003.
 
During 13 years of operation, VIDAMCO has unceasingly developed. The company have carried out market research to understand customers’ tastes and needs, the infrastructure conditions in Vietnam so as to be able to provide them with products of state-of-the-art technology, advanced style at competitively affordable price and introduce to the market 2 new models yearly.
 
GM DAEWOO cars are familiar and beloved by Vietnamese consumers. Matiz and Lanos are the economical choice for passenger transport and taxi companies and for small-sized enterprises as well as stylish individuals. Lacetti fits in medium enterprises and successful businessmen. Magnus L6 2.0 Diamond and Magnus L6 2.5 with the inline 6 cylinder engine deserve to be a predominant sedan for prestigious businessmen and diplomats. These values for money products have enabled VIDAMCO to lead the passenger car market since 1999. Up to end of October 2006, the total sales volume is over 28,000 units accounting for over 30 per cent of Vietnam passenger car market.
 
With a distribution network of 27 sales agents, deluxe showrooms and a nationwide after sales service network, VIDAMCO has been able to provide customers with optimum service and genuine parts.
VIDAMCO realizes that quality products begin with quality employees, and quality employees begin with quality training. It therefore provides employees with a variety of training programs for both professional and personal development.
VIDAMCO doesn’t concentrate solely on its business activities. It is always eager to share its success with the community by participating in social activities. VIDAMCO has received many certificates of compliments from the Hanoi and Haiphong People’s Committee, the Hanoi and Haiphong Customs Department for the accomplishment of early import tax payment, excellent achievements in import-export and investment activities, good performance in customs state management, other successes in business operation activities and participating in social activities since 1996. The Ministry of Planning and Investment awarded the Certificate of Compliment on The Company’s business achievements. In 2004 it received a Certificate of Merit and a “For the Development of Vietnamese Industry” medal from the Ministry of Industry. In 2005, Vidamco was awarded the Prime Minister’s Merit Diploma for excellent business and active contribution to Vietnam fatherland construction and protection in the 2001-2003 period” and Medal for Hanoi Building & Development. Especially, our company has been awarded Golden Dragon Prize for consecutive 4 years. In 2006, Vidamco received Gold Cup for Community Development, Certificate of Well known GM Daewoo Trademark in Vietnam elected by Vietnam customers in 2006.
