France-Vietnam Friendship Association Visits Vietnam

Upon the invitation of Vietnam’s National Assembly’s Vietnam-France Friendship Association, a mission of four members of parliament in the France-Vietnam Friendship Association of the French Lower House paid a working visit to Vietnam from December 11 to 16, 2006.

The mission was led by Mr. Jean-Marie GEVEAUX, a delegate of Sarthe Province and vice chairman of the France-based association. At the working sessions with Vietnamese MPs and leaders of Bach Ninh and Lao Cai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, the French guests discussed major influences of the accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on Vietnam, issues of Vietnamese ethnic minorities and Francophone in Vietnam.
 
The France-Vietnam Friendship Association comprises of 86 members. This working visit showed the concerns of France over the socioeconomic development of Vietnam and the importance of the France-Vietnam relationship.
