EU Vows to Become Top Development Sponsor to Vietnam

The Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam and the Finnish Embassy (rotational chairmanship of the EU released the “Blue Book 2005” on EU development assistance to Vietnam in Hanoi on December 4.

 

According to the Blue Book, which has been annually published since 1999, the EU is Vietnam’s biggest donor in terms of the development assistance and non-refundable aid. The sponsoring value is 810.4 million euros in 2006, an on-year increase of 12 per cent.

 

Speaking before the press, Markus Cornaro, the EU Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam, reiterated EU’s continued support for Vietnam’s development objectives, human resource development, fight against corruption and poverty reduction.
