Garment Exports to UAE Fetch US$25Mln in 2006

The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) estimated garment exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will reach $25 million this year, but did not report last year’s figure.

Shipments to the oil rich state in the first 11 months this year brought in a total of US$22.6 million, an increase of close to 307 per cent over last year.

Fabric exports were the strongest sector of UAE garment exports, accounting for US$17.8 million or 78 per cent of the total revenues.

 

In 2006, Vietnam is estimated to obtain total export earnings of over US$5.8 billion from textile and garment products, an increase of 19.9 per cent on-year.
