On Jan 25, Vietnam Airlines (VNA) received the second of ten Airbus A321 plane planes it bought under an 800 million USD deal signed in 2004.
Mr Nguyen Si Hung, Vietnam Airlines General Director said: Six other planes will be handed over in 2007, three in 2008 and the last one in early 2009.
With the new 10 A321 planes, the deal was aimed at modernising the carrier's fleet, which will have 26 Airbus 321s after the purchase. Between 2007 and 2010, Vietnam Airlines will receive four Boeing 787, five more ATR72s, and lease two more commercial aircraft with 250 seats each.
