Under-Secretary of State Marjatta Rasi meets with MUTRAP II

On the occasion of a working visit to Vietnam from January 31^st to February 5^th 2007 to learn more about trade and investment issues in Vietnam and the effectiveness of the development co-operation funded by the Finnish Government in Vietnam, a delegation led by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs Under-Secretary of State Ms Marjatta Rasi, met with the Project Task Force of the Multilateral Trade Assistance Project (MUTRAP II) on February 1.

The meeting aimed to exchange information related to Vietnam’s WTO membership, specifically implementation of WTO commitments and obligations. Two sides also discussed the effectiveness and sustainability of MUTRAP II and other technical assistance programmes funded by the Finnish Government. This was a good opportunity to enhance coordination and cooperation among on-going technical assistance programmes as well as to draw on their experience for future programmes.

 

The delegation also met with H.E Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign affairs Pham Gia Khiem, the Ministry of Trade, donors, and provincial and municipal leaders of Ha Noi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
