Vien Lien to Build US$5.9Mln Fiber Optics Cable Plant

The listed Vien Lien Joint Stock Company (UNI) plans to invest VND94 billion (US$5.9 million) in building the Fiber Optics Cable Production Plant, or Uni Fiber.
 
UNI said it plans some issue to raise capital for the project.
 
The firm plans to sell three million shares to existing shareholders at ratio of 1-to-2 and 75,000 shares to its staff, both at VND20,000.
 
UNI will also offer two million shares to strategic partners at price higher than VND20,000.
 
Beside UNI Fiber, the company will also pump VND15 billion in Vien Dong Design and Installment Joint Stock Company, and VND10 billion in Taihan-Sacom Resort Construction Investment Co in Da Lat.
 
In the first half of 2007, UNI posted a net profit of VND4.2 billion, finishing 48.4 per cent of the annual target. It gained VND101.6 billion in total revenue in the period.
 
The VND15-billion firm will issue 180,000 shares to pay dividend set at 12 per cent for the first half of this year.
