Heightening Reputation of Vietnamese Businesses

Apart from the domestic market, BAVICO also exports its products to many countries in the world, bringing in a large sum of income. Recently, Mr. Nguyen Huu Bieu, General Director of BAVICO J.S.C, accompanied State President Nguyen Minh Triet to visit the United States and he signed many high-value deals under the witness of President Triet. Vietnam Business Forum’ reporter Quang Dai had an exchange talk with Mr Bieu on this event.

I felt very proud to join the Vietnamese business delegation to accompany the State President to visit the United States. After the visit, I found that US companies desired to do business with Vietnamese partners. The witness of the State President and leaders of ministries and branches at the signing ceremonies heightened the reputation of Vietnamese companies, not only in the region but also in the world. Not only BAVICO but also other Vietnamese companies signed many high-valued deals during the visit.

Our success of our visit is to contact with US partners and learn business and administration experience as well as advanced technology. During the visit, BAVICO signed a deal worth of US$103 million to provide core materials for PET bottle production, which will be completed in five years. 12 months after the signing, we will send the first shipment valued US$10 million to the US and the value will increase 40 per cent year after year. The signing partner is our customer for four years but this is the largest with deal with the longest delivery duration.

Since its establishment in 1993, the company has tried to become a professional and reliable PET bottle producer in Vietnam and in the world. Thus, we made considerable investment in factories equipped with internationally advanced technology to produce bottle caps and PET bottles in Thuan An Commune, Binh Duong Province. This location is favourable for material reception, product delivery and environment protection. Moreover, Binh Duong also has an abundant source of labourers. In 1996, the company continuously invested in automatic bottle cap and PET bottle production lines supplied by world-leading firms such as HUSKY (Canada), SIDEL (France), KRAUSS MAFFEI (GErmamy), NISSEI (Japan) and SIPA (Italia). The company brought into operation many bottle cap and PET bottle factories in Binh Duong Province, Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Tay Province. In late 2007, we will put another factory into operation in northern Vietnam to meet the increasing demand in the home and international markets. In 2006, BAVICO injected multimillion US dollars to expand operations and invested nearly VND100 billion (US$6 million) to treble the output of a factory in Binh Duong Province. Currently, we are building a five-hectare PET cap production plant in Nhon Trach, Dong Nai Province, mainly for the domestic demand. This is the most modern and largest bottle cap and PET bottle production facility in Vietnam and the region. Besides, we have invested in researching the production of PET bottle for water storage and beer storage, which requires complicated technology.

 

With its high-levelled, experienced and devoted engineers and workers together with the modern machinery imported from world-leading firms, BAVICO has produced premium products at competitive prices. At present, BAVICO is the provider of PET bottles and caps for soda producers and mineral water producers in Vietnam as well as cosmetics companies.

 

Apart from the home market, BAVICO also expanded to the world market. Since 1996, the company sped up the marketing in the US market and sent its business administration and financial managers and engineers to follow training courses in the US. Presently, four US university graduates are keeping key positions in the country. Additionally, the company also employs an American managing director for many years.

 

BAVICO products have been exported to the US and Asian nations since 2002, with an annual growth rate of over 40 per cent. In 2003, 2004 and 2005, BAVICO received financial bonus from the Ministry of Trade for the high export earnings and the export of new products. These are momentums for BAVICO to continue expanding production scale and increasing the supply for the domestic and foreign markets. The company expects a double export earnings compared with 2005 this year.

 

In addition to modern equipment, we also pay full attention to the quality management and examination. BAVICO was the first PET bottle producer in Vietnam to obtain the ISO9002. With the philosophy of nicer, novel and high-quality products at reasonable price, BAVICO has become a famous trademark in the heart of Vietnamese and international customers. The signing of the US$103 million is a clear evidence for the reputation of BAVICO trademark on the market.

Vietnam is now a full member of the WTO. This means that all Vietnamese enterprises, not only BAVICO, has to striven more to stand firmly and develop in this increasingly stiff competition environment. BAVICO has plans to build an new factory in Nhon Trach Industrial Zone, Dong Nai Province, whose output will be three times larger than the one in Binh Duong Province. Besides, we will train our human resources under the international standard to approach to modern technology in the world. We will continue expanding our markets t other countries and increase the market share in the country. Our goal is to maintain the position of a leading PET bottle producer in Vietnam and in the region.
