Philips Vietnam wins GfK Awards for Best Brands in 2006
The Global leading market research company GfK has recently certified Philips’ leading position in Vietnam with two best brand awards for its 2006 performance.
Philips’ irons and blenders, with a dominant market shares of 53 percent and 30 percent respectively, for the third consecutive year flex their muscles in a densely packed market of competitors.
GfK’s figures are based on volumes of sales as to units that domestic appliance producers sold last year.
“Our dominant positions in this fast growing market, as confirmed today by one of the world’s leading market research companies, have made one thing very clear: we have the best products for our customers, and we have gone in the right way to deliver the products to our customers,” said Mr. Pratt Hsu, CEO of Philips Vietnam.
Various market surveys have shown Philips is the market leader for blenders and irons in the South East Asian country for years, and GfK’s 2006 awards for the company’s products officially once again cement it as the leading player in a fast growing market where dozens of players compete with the most serious threats coming from China’s cheap brands.
In another sign of Philips’ plan to consolidate and expand its dominance in Vietnam, the company also put on a demo of new products to be on sales soon. In addition to blenders and irons, shavers, rice cookers, vacuum cleaners and water, air, and toothbrush are among Philips’ incoming spearheading cards.
