Archetype Group can be seen as a good example for a young business – an excellent, successful model of foreigners who have founded a Vietnam-based company. It is the first foreign owned company headquartered in Vietnam.
As the Vietnam construction market has been booming, Archetype first established its presence in Vietnam as a multi-disciplinary consulting organization in Vietnam and soon became one of the biggest construction consulting companies in the country. From Vietnam, Archetype has expanded its activities to other countries like Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and India, and especially in France.
After five years, Archetype is proud to be ranked 63rd out of the top 100 architectural firms in the world. The company has been involved in many projects in Vietnam covering its 5 main strengths including hotels and resorts, high rise mixed-use offices, residential and retail buildings, specialized buildings, and urban planning and industrial projects. Archetype Group is very proud of the fact that the company has contributed to the success of many well known projects. Among them are Hanoi Lake View, Pacific Place, Saigon Pearl, Saigon Domaine, Pearl (HCMC), Rex Hotel and La Residence Hue. Some other projects outside of Vietnam include, for instance, Siem Riep International Airport in Cambodia.
Mr Pierre Jean Malgouyres, General Director of Archetype Vietnam shared, “The international experience together with local knowledge partly brings our success. We are proud of our ability to carry out any kind of project, mostly in Vietnam, because we understand the market, the people and the culture. We have a very good team of architects and engineers.”
Apart from business operation, according to Pierre Jean Malgouyres, Archetype is trying to help Vietnamese conserve French architecture, renovate the old French style villas, and to maintain and develop the architecture of city centres as well. “Our ambition is to be internationally recognized from our Vietnam base, and to be 10th out of the 100 top architectural firms after 10 years. This can be done due to many advantages in Vietnam. First, we can offer a wide range of services. Second, Vietnamese architects are very hard-working and highly skilled. Third, the business environment in Vietnam is very progressive,” says Pierre.
