The investment and operations of real estate projects are core business fields of VINACONEX after it went public, said Mr Doan Chau Phong, deputy general director of VINACONEX.
Vietnamese and foreign investors as well as the public have known VINACONEX as a leading builder of civil, industrial and infrastructural projects in Vietnam and in foreign nations. In recent years, VINACONEX is also known as a developer and operator of large-scaled and high-quality real estate projects.
Giant projects
The Trung Hoa-Nhan Chinh new urban zone in Hanoi City is the first and largest urban project of VINACONEX, a project usually seen in developed nations. With a total area covering on over 25 hectares, the Trung Hoa-Nhan Chinh new urban zone is a potential quarter for commercial activities as it is designed to support around 15,000 people.
According to the design of the city, the Trung Hoa-Nhan Chinh new urban zone is one of the core projects in the city as it links Hoa Lac high-tech park with the downtown of Hanoi City. It bears all economic, social and cultural significances. The Trung Hoa-Nhan Chinh new urban zone is only the start-up for a series of urban zones along Lang-Hoa Lac expressway.
The An Khanh urban zone in Ha Tay Province is measured the largest residential project in northern Vietnam, covering on 273 hectares. The project is a joint venture between VINACONEX and Posco E&C of South Korea, one of leading real estate developers in South Korea. This is also an important project for the development of the company.
Under the development plan, North An Khanh urban zone, which was commenced the construction in the third quarter in 2006, needed VND1,668 billion (over US$100 million) for infrastructure development. This is a complete urban complex, including six sections: high-rise apartment blocks, villas, attached houses, offices for lease, commercial centres and supermarkets.
Especially, Cai Gia-Cat Ba urban and resort zone lying in Cat Ba Island in Hai Phong City and near Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage, exposed the strategic vision of VINACONEX think tanks. The project is forecast to exploit the tourism potentiality in the locality. This project received great support from the Government, ministries and central branches and especially from Haiphong City and Cat Hai District governments.
The goal of the project is to build a giant tourist and urban site in Vietnam and in the region. The project is designed by the US-based GROUP 70/PACMAR, Inc and VINACONEX R&D Consulting Co., a subordinate of VINACONEX. The project comprises of international standard hotels, villas, ports, yachting ports, beaches, sports centres, commercial centres, international conferencing centres, tourist services centres and entertainment centres among others, which are linked by large roads along the bay shores.
Besides, VINACONEX has also developed other real estate projects as well as commercial centres and offices for lease, including the Trang Tien Plaza in Hanoi City, Ha Dong Commercial Centre in Ha Dong City and Thanh Hoa Commercial Centre in Thanh Hoa City.
Success from quick shortcut
Mr Doan Chau Phong, deputy general director of VINACONEX, revealed that VINACONEX has made significant progresses and won the trust of customers because the corporation knew how to research and apply new technologies and products to its construction activities, including pre-stressed reinforced concrete structure and artificial stone tiles. The new changes make the projects more beautiful and modern but reduce the investment capital for those projects. These are “shortcut” elements to help VINACONEX to occupy new markets.
In the coming time, VINACONEX will continue investing and developing real estate projects, one of core fields of VINACONEX on the road to become a leading real estate developers and operators in Vietnam and in the region.
