Many foreign-invested banks in Vietnam are making profit, to a certain extent, by introducing their advantages, professional services, conveniences and modernity. The wholly Taiwanese-invested Chinatrust has met all these factors of success.
After only five years operating in Vietnam, Chinatrust has reaped significant success. With chartered capital of US$ 18 million, Chinatrust in Vietnam has registered average annual growth of 40 per cent in the past five years, said Mr Mark Chen, country manager of Chinatrust in Vietnam. However, he said, this figure will be since Vietnam has joined the WTO and foreign investment capital is channelled into Vietnam. Especially, Vietnam is now home to some 7,500 foreign-invested projects.
In fact, Chinatrust Commercial Bank in Taiwan, set up in 1966, has rich experience in banking services.
Chinatrust had 117 outlets and 70 overseas outlets, including representative offices, branch offices, subsidiaries and subsidiary branches in foreign markets as such as the UK, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, the US and Vietnam, and approximately 4,000 ATMs. Chinatrust is a leading bank in Taiwan. Only in 2006, the bank won the best foreign exchange bank in Taiwan voted by Global Finance Magazine, the best bank in Taiwan voted by Finance Asia Magazine, and Top 10 Asian Bank voted by Asia Risk Magazine.
In Vietnam, Chinatrust is located on Le Duan Boulevard in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. The Vietnamese branch has some 45 employees trained with the best skills to provide professional services. With the philosophy “We are Family,” Chinatrust is ready to serve enterprises and individual customers, especially Taiwanese. “We are now serving companies coming from abroad like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines. Those firms are using our worldwide banking services. We also have big local corporate clients such as PetroVietnam, Kinh Do Corporation, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and Vinamilk. Meanwhile, Chinatrust will also explore and develop opportunities in Vietnam for retail banking, one of Chinatrust’s strong niches,” Mr Chen added.
Chinatrust provides loans for land purchase, factory construction, machinery purchase and material purchase, and helps customers open accounts quickly and conveniently. Currently, Chinatrust is applying to open a branch in Hanoi City.
With its presence in Vietnam, Chinatrust has brought professional, modern, friendly and innovative service into the country.
