The Chinese leader added that as both sides continue to lower tariffs, and China’s exports to ASEAN surged 34 per cent to US$51 billion between January and July while imports grew 22.4 per cent to US$58.77 billion.

In 2008, the two-way trade is expected to surpass the target of US$200 billion of 2010 when ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) takes effect.

Vietnam is predicted to see both business potentials and challenges as it is pursuing to join the ACFTA.
