Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Ambassador to Visit Vietnam

Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro will pay a visit to Vietnam from October 29 to November 4 in a bid to increase humanitarian aids, according to the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.
 
Sugi Ryotaro is scheduled to meet with Vietnamese top leaders and attend some activities, including the Birla orphan village’s 20th establishment anniversary, the signing ceremony of funding aids to upgrade the Birla village.
 
The ambassador will work with relevant authorities on the organization of the Japan-Vietnam music programs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Chi city next year. The performance is aimed to mark the 35th foundation anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties [1973-2007].
 
His visit to Vietnam this time is the third one since he took up his post as the Japan-Vietnam goodwill ambassador on May 2005.
           
Sugi Ryotaro was the first Japanese person to be awarded the “Friendship Order” by President Tran Duc Luong in 1997 for his continuous contribution to social welfare activities and to the two nations’ diplomatic relationship. (Website of CPV)
