Up to 128 Vietnamese and Japanese companies, specializing in accessories industry, will gather at an international exhibition in Hanoi November 13.

They will showcase best products and services relating to accessories industry that they want local producers to supply including automobiles, motorbikes, electronic, electricity, engineering, chemical and IT, said the source.

Vietnam needs to pay due attention to a sustainable and comprehensive development strategy for the country’s accessories industry, claimed Do Thang Hai, a senior official of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, adding that event organizers will chair a symposium to introduce development policies for the industry.

There will be much room and great potential for international and domestic investors to invest into local accessories industry because the sector is not fully tapped and developed, said Kenjiro Ishiwata, chairman of the Japan Trade Promotion Organization.

Japanese investors are interested in doing business in this field, noted Kenjiro Ishiwata, adding that the move [developing accessories industry] will help Japanese businesses to reduce production cost and help sharpen competitive edges of Vietnam exports.

Earlier, around 80 Japanese companies said they will visit Vietnam from November 11 to study the market, one of the most attractive among 20 new emerging economies in the world. (VNA, Vietnam & World Economy)
