Vietnam Milk Joint Stock Company, or Vinamilk, said it will invest VND100 billion to set up a dairy cow breeding farm in central Binh Dinh province.

Vinamilk has received approval from the provincial authorities for breeding 2,000 dairy cows in 53 hectares in An Nhon commune, Nhon Tan district.

The company will expand its dairy herbs to provide to local farmers.

Binh Dinh’s service of Agriculture and Rural Development has required Vinamilk to increase buying fresh milk prices because current prices do not profit the farmers.

The service said Vinamilk is now offering only VND6,400 for a kilo of fresh milk in Binh Dinh while the prices in HCM city, Long An and Hanoi are VND7,500 and VND7,900 a kilo.

Vinamilk is operating a series of dairy cow breeding farms in central highlands Lam Dong province, central Nghe An province, and southern Binh Duong and Soc Trang provinces in order to ensure sufficient fresh milk for processing. (Vietnam Agriculture)
