Vietnam Okays Plan to Explore Lead, Zinc in Northern Province
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has given green light to Bao Lam Mineral Investment Joint Stock Co to explore lead and zinc ores from now to 2010 in northern mountainous Cao Bang province, the Government website said.
Deputy PM Hai urged the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the provincial authorities to coordinate with Bao Lam Co to carry out the plan in Bao Lam and Bao Lac districts, it noted.
The government will consider licensing the exploitation of lead and zinc here after the exploration is completed.
Vietnam has an estimated reserve of 8.4 million tons of lead and zinc, mainly located in northern mountainous provinces including Cao Bang, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen. (Goverment Website)
