Singapore President Visits Vietnam

President S.R Nathan and his spouse will start a 5-day visit to from February 25 at the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet. This is the second time the Singaporean president will have visited , the first was in 2001.

 

Accompanying President Nathan are Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan, Members of Parliament Lam Pin Min and Wee Siew Kim and a business delegation.

 

During the discussion with the host President Nguyen Minh Triet, President Nathan noted that will enhance the cooperative ties in six fields added with urban and seaport logistics. The Singaporean leader also pledged to help train English teachers for and upgrade Phu Bai International Airport in Hue City .

 

During the stay in Vietnam, President Nathan will meet Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet, Party Chief Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, government ministers, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi and Mayor Nguyen The Thao.
