Bilateral trade between Vietnam and France reached US$2.76 billion in 2007, up 32 per cent on-year, Pham Xuan Yen, Vietnam Trade Counselor to France said on March 3.
Of the whole, Vietnam's exports valued at US$2.03 billion, an on-year increased of 23.39 per cent, and its imports rose 47.35 per cent to US$641.5 million.
The figures resulted in Vietnam's huge trade surplus of US$1.38 billion during the year.
Footwear, apparel, seafood, coffee and household goods were Vietnam's export staples to the European country while it imported electronic ad pharmaceutical products, chemicals, jewelry and gemstone.
Vietnam would obtain an on-year export rise of 20.1 per cent this year, said the counselor but did not estimate the import spending. (saigon.vnn.vn)
