Czech PM's Vietnam Visit to Inaugurate Cooperative Pacts

An amended protocol on encouraging and protecting investment and cooperative agreements will be signed on the occasion of Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek’s trip to Vietnam this time, local media said.
 
The agreements include cooperation on education, a joint venture bank, the establishment of a Vietnam trade center in the Czech Republic, the development of a bus system in Ho Chi Minh City, and others expected during a business forum slated March 21.
 
Mirek Topolanek kicked off his official visit to Vietnam March 20, accompanied by around 40 enterprises and many senior officials, including deputy ministers of Trade and Foreign Affairs.
 
During his four-day stay in Vietnam, Mirek Topolanek is scheduled to hold talks with the PM Nguyen Tan Dung, President Nguyen Minh Triet, Party Chief Nong Duc Manh, attend business forum and visit Ho Chi Minh City.
 
The Czech Republic has granted a total US$18 million ODA for Vietnam so far. The European nation pledged to give US$2.8 million in aids this year, focusing on fields of environment protection and health services development. (Website of CPV, VNS)
