Vietnam Targets US$18 Bln from Agro, Forestry, Seafood Exports in 2009

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has set the target to export US$18 billion worth of agriculture, forestry and seafood products in 2009, a rise of nearly 12 per cent against 2008.
 
Accordingly, export of farm produce is expected to bring in US$9.5 billion while forestry export is expected to contribute US$3.7 billion, and seafood export, US$4.8 billion.
 
Vietnam expected to rake in US$16 billion from agricultural, forestry and seafood exports this year.
 
In the first eight months, the country exported US$11.2 billion worth of the products, up 33 per cent on year. (Labor)
