Vietnam’s customs sector is estimated to collect VND121 trillion (US$7.33 billion) of tax for state coffer this year, representing 143.19 per cent of the year’s target and up 42.2 per cent on year, according to Vietnam Economic Times.

The hikes in tax collection are attributed to rising consumer prices on the global market over the months, increases in tax on items such as automobile, crude oil, coal, steel and fertilizer, the newspaper said.

Next year, the local customs sector will try to revoke VND1 trillion tax arrears and fulfill the year’s targets, the newspaper added. (Vietnam Economic Times)
