Vietnam, Hong Kong Sign Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement
Vietnam and Hong Kong Dec 16 signed double taxation avoidance and trade frauds prevention agreements in co-concerted efforts to boost bilateral trade, the state-run Nhan Dan newspaper said.
The signed pacts will also create incentives and legal corridors for Hong Kong investors to do business in Vietnam, the newspaper said.
The pacts were reached between Deputy Minister of Finance Hoang Anh Tuan and Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary John C. Tsang.
So far, Hong Kong investors have invested into 400 FDI projects with registered capital of US$5 billion, ranking the fifth among 70 countries and territories investing into Vietnam, the Vietnamese government said on its website.
Bilateral trade between Hong Kong and Vietnam reached more than US$2 billion last year.
