VASEP Calls for Gov’t 10 Measures for its Survival
Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) January 14 sent petition to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung calling for ten urgent measures to help seafood processing businesses to overcome difficulties, website of the association reported.
The measures include:
1. Supporting lending rates for seafood exporting companies; postponing increase of power, coal and input prices.
2. Adjusting foreign exchange rate to support export and widening trading band.
3. Creating favorable conditions for local aquatic breeders to access capital, and feed.
4. Managing aquatic breeding farms in accordance with set standards.
5. Encouraging import of aquatic material for export.
6. Encouraging development of frozen storage and bonded warehouse system.
7. Cutting tax on companies employing many female workers.
8. Supporting trade promotion expenses.
9. Socializing inspection on seafood quality.
