HCMCity Banks Eye Deposit Growth at 25-27 per cent in 2009

HCM City-based banks plan to increase total deposits by 25 per cent-27 per cent and the outstanding loans by 21 per cent-23 per cent on-year in 2009, according to Ho Huu Hanh, director of State Bank - HCM City Branch.
 
Last year, the lending rate was around 12 per cent-13.5 per cent per annum while the deposit rate ranged between 10 per cent-11 per cent per annum in these banks.
 
The city's commercial joint stock banks posted a total chartered capital of VND38.315 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 67 per cent. (Vietnam Economic Times)
