The Hanoi-based Secoin Trade Service and Investment Co. Ltd., is planning to build a brick plant in Australia to serve the foreign market, according to Secoin vice general director Vo Lien Huong.

The project is estimated to cost around 1.5 million, Huong said.

“Secoin realized that the Australian market can accept most of its products. Moreover, transport costs from Vietnam to Australia are quite high, which has made prices of its product much higher, so Secoin has decided to build a production factory here,” she added.

The company will take workers from Vietnam to work at the factory with an aim to reduce labor costs and ensure product quality.

Secoin has shipped its products to the foreign market for three years and export turnover has increased year by year, Huong said.

The company has also surveyed Russia and Africa for another factory, she added. (Investment)
