Vietnam-Thailand Trade Hit US$6.2 Bln in 2008, up 31 per cent On Year
Bilateral trade with Thailand reportedly grew 31 per cent on year to US$6.2 billion in 2008, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told the Bangkok Post within the 14th Asean summit on February 28.
As March of 2009, Thailand has invested into 198 projects valid in Vietnam with a combined registered capital of US$5.7 billion and of which US$835 million has been implemented, PM Dung said.
Vietnam and Thailand are among five rice exporters such as India, China and Pakistan in the world are cooperating in information and technical assistances, Vietnam and Thailand are in talks to find out measures to beef up cooperation in rice exports to ensure food security and protect benefits of rice growers of each country, Dung said.
