Hashinco, Taekwang Vina Seeking to Build US$2.5-Bln Power Plant in Vietnam
A Korean joint venture between Hashinco and Taekawng Vina Industry is seeking permission from the Vietnamese government to build a US$2.5-billion power plant in Hai Hau district of northern Nam Dinh province, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Huu Hao said.
The 2,400-MW plant is expected to occupy 307 hectares of land in Hai Ninh and Hai Chau communes.
It will use vapor condensation technology with an expected for generation in 2015, the deputy minister said.
According to the national power development plan through 2015 and span to 2025, or plan VI, Vietnam plans to build an additional 12 thermal power plants with a combined capacity of between 6,300 MW and 7,000 MW in the northern key economic zones by 2015. (Labor)
