Vietnam, Denmark Strengthen Labour, Social Ties

Vietnamese Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Danish Minister of Employment Claus Hjort Frederiksen has recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Hanoi to boost cooperation in labour and employment.

 

The MoU emphasised the two countries’ prospects for cooperation in improving legislation on labour administration, social security and labour relations, promoting trilateral relations, generating jobs and increasing corporate social responsibilities. It also included policies to improve social welfare and occupation safety and health as well as exchanging information and expertise between the two ministries.

 

Vietnam hopes Denmark to grant technical assistance for harmonised employment and receive contract Vietnamese labourers to work in Denmark.

 

Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen said Denmark is in high need of senior labourers, especially in health sector. He expressed his pleasure to share experience in the Danish labour market model, which combines flexibility on the labour market with social security and an active labour market policy with rights and obligations for the unemployed.
