Vinacomin to Export 3M Tons of Low-quality Coal This Year
The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently requested the state-run Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) to export a maximal three million tons of low-quality coal via Van Gia port in northern Quang Ninh province.
Vinacomin will be fully responsible for origins of the exported coal, the ministry said.
Exported low-quality coal should have a minimal ash proportion of 39.5 per cent, the ministry elaborated.
As of late January this year, 7 million-8 million tons of low-quality coal is in stock in northern Quang Ninh province. Therefore, the government of Vietnam has given permission to Vinacomin to export the coal via the Van Gia port in the province.
This year, Vinacomin targets to produce 40 million tons of coal, including 20.5 million tons for exports and 19.5 million tons for domestic sales. (Labor)
