Vietnam, Sudan Called to Boost Agriculture, Oil, Gas, Trade
Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said Monday Vietnam and Sudan have huge potentials to develop the bilateral cooperation in fields of agriculture, oil and gas and trade, the government of Vietnam said on its website.
The vice president made her statement while receiving Special Envoy of Sudanese President and Minister of Finance and Economy Awad Ahmed Mohamed Elgaz in Hanoi.
During the talk, the two sides should speed up the establishment of embassies in each country in order to facilitate the development of diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation in specific fields.
Vice President Doan thanked the Sudanese government for allocating 16,000 hectares of cultivation land in the country to help Vietnam promote pilot models of agricultural production
She also reiterated Vietnam’s response to the International Criminal Court (ICC)’s arrest warrant for the Sudanese President, Omar al-Bashir, adding that Vietnam, with its non-permanent member status in the UN Security Council, always wishes concerned parts to settle their issue on the peaceful principle.
During his stay in Vietnam, the Sudanese guest will meet with leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to discuss specific cooperative measures. (chinhphu.vn)
