Vietnam-Nigeria Trade Hits US$105M in 2008: Official
The two-way trade between Vietnam and Nigeria reportedly reached US$105 million last year, the state-run newspapers said Friday, quoting a senior government official.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien told a conference Thursday that exports promotion activities are of great significance in the face of the global turmoil.
Nigeria and Africa are potential exports markets, and a boost to the consumer market expansion should be prioritized, Deputy Minister Bien said without giving out comparative figures of bilateral trade last year.
Vietnam’s main exports to Nigeria are rubber, electric and electronic products, footwear, plastic products, handicraft and construction materials, he said.
Communist Vietnam is taking bold steps to expand trade with Africa to US$2.5 billion this year, state media said. (New Hanoi, Pioneer)
