Vietnam to Join Asian Govt Efforts to Cope with Crisis

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his spouse will pay a five-day to China from April 17 to 21 and attend the 2009 Bo'ao Forum for Asian to join efforts of Asian governments to head off the economic downturn, the government of Vietnam said on April 15.
 
This is the second visit to China by Mr. Dung since he was reelected as a prime minister and the first of the event.
 
At the Bo'ao forum, Mr. Dung will discuss measures with Asia-Pacific leaders to weather challenges of the recession and increase the role of emerging economies.
 
During his visit to China, Mr. Dung will tour China's Guangdong province and two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau to boost cooperation in economics, trade, and investment, the government noted.
 
Beijing has just announced a plan to set up a US$10 billion investment fund to support Asean countries and to lend US$15 billion to Asean member countries in the next 3-5 years, China's Foreign Minister said on April 12.
 
IMF forecast that Asian economy except for Japan will slow to 2.7 per cent and China is expected to lead the GDP growth. (chinhphu.vn, VNS)
