Vietnam PM Approves Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on April 16 passed a Vietnam-Japan economic partnership agreement, under which, the two countries will exempt tax for 92 per cent of the bilateral trade in the next ten years, the government of Vietnam said on its website.
The VJEPA is a bilateral comprehensive agreement, which will cover a wide range of goods, services, trade, investment, business environment improvement, labor and technical assistances, the government said.
Under the deal, Vietnam's agricultural, seafood products and apparels will enter freely Japan's market; in return, Japan will ship industrial, automobile spare parts, electronic products to the Southeast Asian country.
Initially, Japan will help train Vietnamese nurses, set up dialogue mechanism for apparels, develop supporting industries, improve hygiene of food and foodstuff, and complete building quality standards. (chinhphu.vn)
