Singapore MM Lee: Vietnam Economy Likely to Grow Over 5 per cent This Year

Singaporean Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew expects that Vietnam's economy could expand over 5 per cent this year from a real growth of 3.1 per cent in Q1 amid the current global turmoil.
 
MM Lee attributed his optimism to a dynamic economy of Vietnam and advised the government of Vietnam to adopt resolute, innovative and strong measures to achieve the growth.
 
Mr Lee also told Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung that the government to continue boosting training of human resources and restructure the economy with higher added values.
 
Mr Dung hailed Mr Lee's sixth visit to Vietnam and thanked for his realistic contributive opinions, which will help heighten the bilateral ties with finalization of signed agreements in trade, investment and pledged close cooperation in Asean, Asem, Apec and United Nations. (chinhphu.vn, The People)
